Scotland’s Most Expensive Postcodes

Scotland’s Most Expensive Postcodes Revealed — Edinburgh and Aberdeen Lead the Million-Pound Market

Recently released figures from the Registers of Scotland (RoS) show that Edinburgh and Aberdeen dominate the country’s high-value property market, claiming the top spots for Scotland’s most expensive postcodes.

If you are considering buying or selling a high-value property, now is the time to understand the market trends and get expert legal advice.

Edinburgh’s New Town Tops the List

The New Town in Edinburgh saw the highest number of properties sold for over £1 million this year, with nine transactions ranging from £1 million to £1.8 million.

Aberdeen Claims the Next Three Spots

In the south west of Aberdeen, areas such as Cults, Rubislaw, and Milltimber (all within the AB15 postcode sectors) recorded 16 sales between £1 million and £2.2 million.

Other High-Value Hotspots

  • Edinburgh holds five of the remaining six most expensive postcodes, including areas such as Colinton and the Grange.
  • Aberdeen’s AB13 postcode ranks eighth, with three properties selling for over £1 million.

Scotland-Wide Overview

In total, 92 properties in Scotland sold for more than £1 million in the first nine months of the year:

  • 51 in Edinburgh.
  • 21 in Aberdeen.
  • 20 across the rest of Scotland, including Glasgow, Auchterarder, and Bridge of Weir.

This is a significant increase compared to the same period last year, which saw 71 million-pound-plus sales.

If you own property in one of these prime locations, now could be the ideal time to sell. A solicitor experienced in high-value property transactions can help protect your interests and maximise your return.
